A Comprehensive Study of Dynamic Recrystallization Behavior of Mg Alloy with 3 wt.% Bi Addition

The effect of the addition bismuth on dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior matrix has been investigated by comparing coarse grain pure Mg with 3 wt.% Bi, using a uniaxial compression test in temperature range 473–623 K and strain rate 0.01–10 s?1. constitutive equation, processing map, microstructure, texture evolution Mg-3Bi alloy were systematically investigated. results showed that Bi could refine size accelerate DRX process. kinetics is discussed detail, accompanied extensive characterization employing EBSD analysis. depended deformation rather than rate. {10–12} tensile twin appeared at 573 K/0.01–0.1 s?1, discontinuous (DDRX), continuous (CDRX) as main mechanism case K/0.01 while dominant was DDRX when increased. Particle-stimulated nucleation (PSN) also involved this new RE-free alloy.
